Meet the Board
Our Leadership
Becky Bynum
Board President, Friends of the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter (FCCAS)
Becky began volunteering at Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter (CCAS) in April of 2013, spending about 10 hours a week walking dogs. She was impressed right away with how welcoming a place it was—both the staff and the other volunteers made her feel at home there right away. Soon, she began training other volunteers to walk dogs. When CCAS started playgroups, she was eager to help with them as well. It was apparent how good the groups are for the dogs—and for the people connected with them. She has also fostered puppies for CCAS for several years.
Today, Becky serves as President of the Board. She lives in Shaker with her husband, Phil Calabrese, a federal judge for the Northern District of Ohio, and their dogs: Sunny, a Pit Bull, and Hermes, a Shepherd mix.
Becky and Phil have two children: Nate, a mechanical engineer, is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, and Sophie is studying exercise science at the University of Texas at Austin.
Lindsay Keith
Board Treasurer, FCCAS
In 2019, Lindsay learned of the great work being done at CCAS through the social media posts about the famous Savi and Salami: With the help of FCCAS, these two dogs were transported across the country to rescues that could further provide the support and structure they needed. Shortly thereafter, Pickles, who was a helper dog to Savi and Salami, became the CCAS “Daily Dog.” The warm and loving posts about Pickles drew Lindsay right into becoming a volunteer dog walker. She now helps with playgroups and fondly refers to it as her weekly therapy session.
Lindsay is a Trust Officer at Johnson Trust Company in Brecksville, Ohio. In this role, she works directly with clients, their attorneys, and other advisors to ensure their estate plan is customized and implemented in accordance with their goals and objectives. She holds the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation.
Lindsay lives in Westpark with her boyfriend, Nick, along with their dog, Bennett, and cat, Emma.
Jennifer E. Davis Kravchuck
At-Large Board Member, FCCAS
Jennifer has been an advocate for homeless, abused, and neglected animals since she was a child and saw an extremely malnourished dog begging outside a grocery store in rural Tennessee. Since then, she has had a passion for speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves. As an adult, Jen has volunteered at many local shelters, including CCAS. She is a big fan of dogs who some might consider unadoptable simply due to their age, breed, size or medical condition.
Jennifer is a Senior Director of Marketing Account Services at Cleveland Clinic. In this role, she leads marketing for several clinical institutes and has earned national accolades for her marketing expertise. In 2017, Jennifer earned one of Northeast Ohio’s top marketers honors by Sales and Marketing Executives of Cleveland. Jen earned her MBA in Social Media Marketing from Alliant International University in San Diego and a Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism.
Jen lives in Mentor with her husband, Jim, a Cleveland Firefighter/Paramedic, and they are the proud “pet parents” of three CCAS rescue dogs: Lola, a Jack Russell mix; Myles, an American Staffordshire Terrier and Stella, a Pit Bull/Pointer mix.
Susan Kennedy-Kalafatis
At-Large Board Member, FCCAS
Susan lives in Shaker Heights with her husband and two rescued dogs, Sofia and Monty, and two rescued cats, Scamper and Pip. She has volunteered for various dog rescue groups for several years. She has three adult children. She has worked in various roles in medical cost forecasting for Aetna for the past 24 years. She is a past President and former Trustee of Shaker Figure Skating Club.
Susan earned her Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Modelling in Geography at the University of California, Santa Barbara and her B.A. at Middlebury College.
Christina Campbell
At-Large Board Member, FCCAS
Christina started volunteering as a dog walker at CCAS in February 2020. It wasn’t long after her first shift that she knew she wanted to get more involved. At the shelter, she enjoys snuggling with the dogs who need it most, participating in monthly pack walks, attending events with adoptable dogs, and creating content for the CCAS Instagram page.
Christina is an Account Manager/Media Director at Cunningham Baron (CB), a national, B2B full-service marketing firm. She joined CB in 2007 after graduating from Cleveland State University with a degree in behavioral psychology. She began her career managing all client Public Relations disciplines and quickly commanded oversight of agency media buying. She later founded the Social Media Strategy Division at CB, leading a team that reshaped traditional print messaging to be used on social media.
Christina resides in Sagamore Hills with her two senior dogs, Whiskey and Lilly, both CCAS alums. She’s also been known to welcome shelter pups into her home for slumber parties.
