Nala, a stunning 5-year-old pitt mix, has finally found her forever home! She arrived at the shelter in May 2023 after having multiple litters and testing positive for heartworm. Following two months of waiting, she moved into a foster home, where she completed her heartworm treatment. She then returned to the shelter, patiently waiting for a forever family to come along.
Now, Nala is living her dream life with the Vega family.

Siena and Emry Vega share smiles and laughter with their new dog, Nala, who has quickly stolen their hearts.
“It’s been like a fairytale – she’s the perfect dog,” said Dee Vega, Nala’s new mom. “We were looking for a dog who could plug right into our lifestyle. We are a busy family, so we wanted a dog who was beyond the puppy years, and Nala fit right in.”
Nala is housebroken, doesn’t chew, rarely barks, loves to relax, and enjoys going on walks. She is calm on her leash and knows several commands, including “sit,” “stay” and “paw.”
“Some may think it’s a sexier choice to adopt a puppy, but there are so many advantages of adopting an older dog,” Dee noted.
Dee’s husband, Bobby, and daughters, Siena and Emry, are equally smitten with Nala. She loves snuggling on her cozy new bed and is staying active with plenty of exercise. Dee, a fitness trainer, and her family lead a busy and active lifestyle.
“We seriously won the lottery with Nala,” Dee said. “She is so well-behaved, and her energy just matches our family so well. She’s added to the joy in our family.”
We couldn’t be happier knowing that Nala is exactly where she belongs—living the happy, love-filled life she truly deserves. 🐾❤️
