Hey there… my name is Gator.
I’m a 3-year-old grey and white Terrier mix, and more than anything in this world… I just want someone to love me forever.
Every morning, I wake up hopeful. Hopeful that maybe today will be the day someone looks at me and sees more than just an energetic dog with a goofy grin. Maybe today will be the day someone sees my heart.
Because my heart is so full of love.
I get excited about everything — walks, toys, treats, people saying my name, someone sitting beside me for a few extra minutes. My tail wags so hard my whole body moves with it. Sometimes I bark when I’m happy because I just don’t know how else to express how badly I want to be part of someone’s life.
I have big energy, big feelings, and an even bigger personality. I play hard, love hard, and feel everything deeply. But underneath all that excitement is a dog who is simply desperate to belong somewhere.
I dream about the little things most dogs get to have.
A couch to curl up beside someone on.
A window to watch for my person coming home.
A hand reaching down to pet me because I’m family.
Hearing someone say, “There’s my boy.”
Right now, I’m waiting in a foster home, trying so hard to stay hopeful that my person is still out there looking for me too.
And when I finally find them, I know exactly what I’ll give in return.
Every tail wag.
Every goofy smile.
Every ounce of loyalty.
Every piece of my heart.
I won’t care if you’ve had a bad day.
I won’t care what you look like or what mistakes you’ve made.
I’ll just love you. Completely. Unconditionally. Every single day.
I’m not looking for perfect.
I’m just looking for someone who chooses me.
