The Dog Who Stole Our Hearts
Some dogs leave a mark on everyone they meet—Revere is one of them. Every shelter employee and volunteer adores him, and it’s impossible not to fall for his kind soul. He’s been through so much, yet his spirit remains unshaken. Now, he’s waiting for the family who will love him forever.
Revere, a 5-year-old, 70-pound Boxer mix, was found in May 2024, wandering the Metroparks in rough shape. He was dangerously underweight, and X-rays revealed a fractured right femur. Before surgery could even be considered, he needed time to heal and regain his strength. But life had more challenges in store—he developed a head tilt, and his inner ear infections were so severe that both of his eardrums ruptured.
Through months of treatment, Revere proved just how strong he is. His ear infections healed, and while the head tilt never went away, it doesn’t cause him any pain. In fact, it’s just part of who he is now—a lovable, slightly off-kilter boy with an unstoppable heart. As his body adapted, his fractured femur healed on its own, and the once-planned amputation was no longer needed. His right side carries most of his weight, but you’d never know he was once broken. Today, Revere is healthy, happy, and full of life.
The Best Boy in His Foster Home
Revere is currently in a foster home with a mother and her two young sons (ages 7-10), and he is the perfect gentleman. He adores kids, loves to be near his people, and is always ready for a belly rub. His foster mom describes him as:

🐾 Low-maintenance – He tolerates baths well and loves a coconut oil massage.
🐾 A good eater (with encouragement) – He likes a little company when he eats.
The Home Revere Deserves
Revere needs to be the only pet, but when it comes to people, he has nothing but love to give. While he requires no ongoing medical care, a neurologist or orthopedic specialist could provide additional insight into his head tilt and past injury—but to Revere, none of that matters. He’s just excited for his next adventure.
